The Alchemy CollectionBy Katy Jade Dobson

“This collection came together like streams towards an estuary, in a meeting of multiple timelines. From my classic animal portraiture with a display of prismatic colours, to bold backdrops and abstract subjects with dreamy scenes led by reaching tree branches and flittering birds, this collection taps into a decade history of some of my favourite works. A love for animals, botanics and the natural world, built upon with glittering gold and silver leaf. Rich, luxurious textures alongside palette of beautiful jewel oil pigments go hand in hand to create my signature ethereal style.

A subtle alchemy of different worlds, woven together to create a shimmering body of work.” – Katy

The Habitat Collection – By Chess

This incredible portfolio breaks new ground again for Chess’s studios, and consists of a stunning selection of animal and wildlife based artworks. The artist has really pushed her style to make her pieces even more eye-catching and significant for both potential new clients and her regular collectors alike.

Chess uses authentic newspaper and magazine articles and clippings to create bespoke collages which she then paints over with a derivative of newspaper inks. This give her works a unique perspective and appearance which has become so easily recognisable. Each artwork is accompanied by a separate document of authenticity, which lists the details of the newspapers and magazines used in the creation of each original artwork.

“My collage paintings are rooted in the concept of ‘context’ – how the contexts of people, places, and things are shaped through media. My latest collection takes this in a new direction: how can context be changed through art? How can well-known phrases and ideas be turned on their head simply by placing them next to an unexpected image? When we’re told to ‘spread our wings’ in life, we think of a bird, not a housefly. When we say ‘home sweet home,’ we imagine a cosy lounge, not a sparse pigeon’s nest. And yet, technically, flies do spread their wings and pigeons still call their nests home. The result, I hope, is a series of illustrations that poke a bit of fun at the cliches of everyday life.” – Chess

‘It’s Not Cheap’ – by JJ Adams

A brand new 3D Sculpture artwork by JJ Adams.

The “London Punk” Character has been around for some time now, making varying subtle appearances in many of JJ’s works for over a decade now, as the shadow figure found in the majority of the celebrated “Rule Britannia, collections, the latest being the recent “Approaching Storm” title from last Autumn’s Collection.

The Punks themselves have been designed and fabricated all by JJ himself, before they are all hand-painted individually. The characters are then securely mounted to a London / Rule Britannia style canvas print that has been created especially for this new artwork. The entire piece is then fitted into purpose made shadow box frame with matt black interior inserts and finished in a wide, contemporary black moulding profile.

As a subtle and cool addition to the piece, all artworks have had the interior of the glass spray painted in bright pink graffiti aerosol where the Punk is holding out his spray can. It’s worth noting that all x45 editions have this bright pink spray, however the x5 AP’s have the same spray painted / drip but in a unique metallic gold.
